Who answers when you call

Security is a set of layers, and hardware is only one of them. We are happy to fit a strong deadbolt, but we will also mention that the door frame needs a longer strike screw and that the basement window latch is loose.

We will suggest a key log for a business and a thumb-turn inside so everyone can leave without hunting for a key. This kind of advice does not always sell more product, and that is fine with us. Our job is to leave your home, shop or vehicle in a more sensible state than we found it, and to explain the reasons so you can make good choices on your own later.

Plain talk, tidy work.

Commercial doors work harder than residential ones: hundreds of cycles a day, a closer slamming the latch, deliveries propping the back door open in the cold. We specify hardware for that duty, keep closers adjusted so the door actually latches behind people, and make sure exit doors release with a single push and no key. Then we set a schedule so small wear never becomes a lockout.

The key you reach for. The door you come home to. Good locksmith work begins with understanding how you use them.

  • Identity checked, politely. For openings and key work we confirm you have the right to be there. We explain why we ask, and we ask everyone.
  • Work you can watch. There is nothing hidden about what we do. Stand beside us, ask questions, and we will show you what the lock looks like inside.
  • Clean hands, clean floor. We put down a mat where there is drilling, wipe the hardware down and leave the area as we found it, only with a working lock.

How a visit goes

Describe the property, the hardware and what has changed, and the visit starts from what you have seen.

  1. Illustration: a ringing phone at the shop, then a work van following a route across a small map to the customer’s house

    01

    Listening to the door's history

Has it been forced, does it drag, who has had keys? Those answers tell us whether the frame, the cylinder or the key list needs attention first.

  2. Illustration: the van outside the house, a photo ID card by the front door, then the options laid out and one chosen

    02

    Reinforcing what takes the blow

A box strike and three-inch screws into the studs, long hinge screws, and filled holes where the wood has split, before any cylinder is changed.

  3. Illustration: a key turned in the deadbolt of the front door, with a check mark beside it

    03

Testing every key in every lock

Doors open, doors closed, both sides, then a push on the locked door to feel for play. We finish by writing down what was fitted.
